The Botswana Nurses Union(BONU) formerly Nurses Association of Botswana(NAB); the Union was founded by the late Grace Kgari in 1968 and she became the first President of the association.And BONU now was launched on the 24 October 2012 making history in Botswana. This followed a resolution that was agreed at a Nurses Day held in Serowe in 2009 and followup at another Nurses Day in Otse in 2010. BONU was officially launched on 23rd May 2001. The professional nurses and midwives of the Botswana realised the importance of having a union to address employer/employee relation in a more professional legal way. BONU is comprised of two(2) professional arms being the professional arm and bargaining arm. Governed by 13 central executives.
